Pets have always been an integral part of my life. As a child, the sight of my mother taking care of my pet dog was overwhelming and I, for one, was very fond of adopting my own.
Adopting Buddy was mere coincidence, I was at the right time, in the right place meeting the right person, Poonam Ma’am. Where I had just entered the shelter, looking at a
distinct set of eyes and wagging tails, I saw these beautiful pair of amber-black flecked eyes that just called out to me. A combination of notoriety and innocence rare to behold. It was then and there that I had decided to adopt Buddy.
Though, there were conditions to be taken care of. Buddy was a rescue dog and ma’am made sure that I was aware of his health conditions. For me, I had already visualized cuddling next to him and running behind his tiny figure. Once home, I couldn’t leave him alone for as he was very fragile and I was very clingy. It took months of medications and dietary requirements for him to have his ideal body weight. All this time, not once did I see him sulking or inactive, rather I came home to chewed out wires and papers and I’m sure I lost a few kgs.
When Buddy came home he was two and a
half months old, sitting in a red little basket,
and in two months he’ll be a year old and it’s way harder to have him sit in a place.
Whenever I felt low, looking at him with his tiny paws trying to climb the bed and chewing on my little finger made me forget everything and I wouldn’t want to change anything.
This journey of being able to call Buddy my own has been incredible and the only person who I can thank for giving this “PAWSITIVE” gift is Poonam Ma’am. Her belief in goodness and kindness gives us an opportunity to change a life and to make ours a better one.
Every life deserves dignity & honour, food & shelter, and above all LOVE. We aspire to bridge that gap between humans and animals and create a world that is ALL FOR LOVE
