Gopi’s Story: From a Hit-and-Run Accident to Hope

On an ordinary day outside St. Joseph’s, life changed forever for a little street dog who didn’t even have a name yet. In a heartbreaking hit-and-run incident, a speeding vehicle crushed his spine and hind legs, leaving him motionless, terrified, and struggling to survive.

But fate had something else planned for him — rescue, treatment, and a growing circle of people who believe he deserves a second chance at life.

The Moment We Found Him

We received a call about an injured dog lying near St. Joseph’s. When we reached the spot, the sight was devastating.
He was lying on his side, unable to move, with deep trauma in his spine and legs. His eyes were filled with fear, pain, and confusion — yet when he saw us approach, he attempted to wag his tail.

That tiny gesture, even in unbearable pain, broke our hearts.

We lifted him carefully and rushed him to the hospital. That’s when we decided to give him a name — Gopi — because every fighter deserves an identity.

The Diagnosis: A Battle Not Yet Won

The vets quickly began the evaluation:

• Severe spinal injury

• Both hind legs run over

• Inflammation and internal trauma

• Zero ability to stand or walk

For a moment, it felt like the world had paused.
But the doctors didn’t give up — and neither did we.

With pain relief, stabilization, X-rays, and emergency medication, Gopi slowly started responding. And in that moment of fear and uncertainty, a spark of hope appeared.

Gopi’s Road to Recovery Begins

Within the first 24 hours, Gopi showed small yet powerful signs of improvement. He began eating, responding to touch, and lifting his head. His spirit remained unbroken.

Today, he is still under intensive treatment and recovering steadily

His healing journey includes:
